Dr. Varish has earned his certification in occupational health as a Certified Chiropracic Occupational Health Consultant. He is also a board-certified Diplomate in Orthopedics. Dr. Varish’s advanced training also includes MUA (Manipulation Under Anesthesia). WCA’s 2021 Wisconsin Chiropractor of the Year, Dr. Wendy Varish attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL. She obtained a B.S. in Science and Human Biology and a Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic. Dr. Varish then went on to achieve her degrees as a Diplomate of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists (DACO), as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), a Certified Chiropractic Occupational Health Consultant (CCOHC), and a Medicare Compliance Specialist-Provider (MCS-P). She has also been accepted by the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine as a Fellow and holds the distinction of FIANM(us). She has advanced training and is certified in Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA) as well as Dry Needling. Dr. Varish is a national speaker and teaches multiple continuing education courses for doctors, PT’s, and staff with topics ranging from physiological therapeutics, light therapy / Photobiomodulation, rehab, anatomy, radiology, nutrition and clinical conditions and issues. She is also an instructor for Wisconsin’s Chiropractic Technician and Chiropractic Radiological Technician certification courses. As an Adjunct Instructor at Lakeland University, Dr. Varish taught Medical Terminology in the Exercise Science Studies Program.
Dr. Wendy Varish has special interests in family care, sports injuries, work injuries, nutrition, and pediatrics. She uses a variety of techniques specific for the patient, including Diversified (hands-on), Gonstead, Activator, and Thompson. Depending upon the needs of the individual patient, Dr. Varish will include rehab and therapeutic exercise, nutritional counseling, dry needling, traction and even work with the Protec Spine Floating Manipulation Therapy unit.
Dr. Varish has devoted time where her interests lie, as she is a member of several volunteer organizations. Her past leadership roles include Past-President and Board of Director of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association. Additionally, she has served on the Documentation and Protocol committees for the WCA and is a Past-President of the Wisconsin Back Society. Other organizations that Dr. Varish has been involved in include the Council on Pediatrics; the American Chiropractic Association; the American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians; and the Federation for Chiropractic Education and Research. On a local level, Dr. Varish has been a long-term volunteer and board member of the Howards Grove Advancement Association and a Charter member and Secretary of the Howards Grove Education Foundation. She was co-chair and organizer of the previous annual Howards Grove Run/Walk that raised money for local organizations. Every year, Dr. Wendy entertains and teaches young Boy Scouts who are working towards their First Aid Merit Badges. Dr. Wendy Varish also volunteered and served as the on-field doctor and trainer for the Howards Grove Tigers High School and Sheboygan Lutheran-Kohler Crusaders High School football teams from 2000 until 2012.
When not in the office or on the road teaching, Dr. Wendy Varish enjoys spending time with her family and trying to fit in her other interests. She has completed several triathlons, marathons and half- marathons, century bike rides and competes locally and nationally with her horses.

Dr. Zachary Brocker, DC, MSR, MSN, MBA, CCSP, CKTP, FAKTR, is a native of Glendale, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. Having interest in healthcare as a young as a child, Dr. Brocker gained interest in chiropractic with their approach to solving medical issues versus prescribing medications for every problem. As a result, he worked under a chiropractor in the Milwaukee Metro area from the time he was in high school, through undergrad/graduate schooling and even as a chiropractor after he graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in April of 2015. Dr. Brocker started his education under the Natural Science Department Scholarship at Cardinal Stritch University where he studied under their pre-professional program for future chiropractic, medical and dental students. He was able to gain early admission to Logan College of Chiropractic, where he completed his Bachelors in Life Science simultaneously with his Doctor of Chiropractic.
After graduating with his Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree, he was interest in distinguishing himself from more veteran chiropractors in his field and got his Masters of Science Sports Science and Rehabilitation (MSR), Masters of Nutrition and Human Performance (MSN) (both from Logan University), Masters in Business Administration with a Healthcare Concentration (MBA) (from Cardinal Stritch University) and certifications as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP), Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) and a Functional And Kinetic Treatment with Rehab (FATKR). Under his FAKTR certification he can do IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) work, cupping, nerve flossing and dynamic taping. Dr. Brocker is also trained in dry needling. Dr. Brocker is also certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners for not only all four chiropractic parts as required by the State of Wisconsin, but he is also board certified for Physiotherapy and holds a Nutrition Counseling License for the State of Wisconsin. Dr. Brocker holds the philosophy to do more than the bare minimum and will take at least twice the amount of continuing education hours required by the State of Wisconsin to be as current and up to date on recent research and protocols when treating patients.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Brocker holds the rare distinction of being an Eagle Scout with all three Eagle Palms (Bronze, Gold and Silver). He is very dedicated to helping and spending time with his family and friends outside of the office. He is no stranger to the area as his dad is original from New Holstein and still has family and friends that live in the New Holstein and Kiel area. Dr. Brocker’s family was also responsible in 2000 to have revived the Fireman’s Picnic in New Holstein by choregraphing “The Brocker Memorial Fireworks Shows,” for 11 seasons. During their tenure choregraphing the show, it was the largest fireworks display North of Milwaukee in the State of Wisconsin. One of his favorite past times is going up to his family’s cabin in Florence County to relax, go four wheeling, hunting, and in recent years property improvements that includes planting several trees and various plants to help feed his “critters” for the many years to come.

Dr. Makayla Kulow, DC, BS attended the University of Wisconsin – Stout where she obtained a B.S. in Applied Science with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Science. She then went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa to achieve a Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic. She succeeded in chiropractic school graduating with Summa Cum Laude Honors and Salutatorian of her class. During her time on campus, she was a tutor for the Anatomy Cadaver Lab, and she participated in technique clubs, including Gonstead and Motion Palpation.
Dr. Kulow’s primary interest is caring for the entire family spanning multiple generations, with a special interest in pediatrics. Dr. Makayla is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is certified in the Webster Technique which is a specialized chiropractic technique primarily used during pregnancy, but it can be used on anyone with pelvic dysfunction! This technique is designed to balance the mother’s pelvis into an optimal position to reduce discomfort and improve pelvic function. Additionally, Dr. Makayla is certified in Dry Needling and Nutritional Counseling.
In order to provide optimal individualized treatment for her patients, Dr. Makayla Kulow utilizes a variety of techniques including pediatric, Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, and Activator Techniques. At Howards Grove Chiropractic, we have the ability to include the use of passive and active care modalities such as Class IV Laser, red and NIR light therapy, ultrasound, interferential current, therapeutic exercises, orthotics, and Protec Spine Floating Manipulation Therapy unit. Dr. Makayla is very familiar with each of these adjunctivemodalities thanks to her many years working at HGC as Chiropractic Technician prior to attending graduate school.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Makayla volunteers at Camo Quilt Project of Plymouth, WI on Tuesdays. She has been an active member of Camo Quilt Project since the age of 12 by attending every chance she had during her school breaks. Camo Quilt Project consists of a group of men and women who create military quilts for soldiers being deployed and lap quilts for veterans in our local nursing homes. Besides sewing, Dr. Makayla enjoys kayaking, going to dirt track races, reading, and crocheting.

Dr. Nicholas Broder, DC, BS, attended Lakeland University in Plymouth, Wisconsin, where he earned over 90 credits towards a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology. During the curriculum, he was a college athlete, playing football for the university. He used his time during undergraduate study doing research on topics related to; ground reaction forces (GRF) and their effects on osteoporosis, as well as quadriceps-to-hamstring ratios in female athletes with the proclivity for ACL rupture. He then transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic early to finish earning his Bachelors degree while simultaneously earning his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. During his time at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Broder hosted lecture sessions in which he tutored neurophysiology. He gained additional experience adjusting patients of all ages in Palmer College’s clinic system and dove into elective course work related to Advanced Soft Tissue Approaches. Dr. Broder recently graduated Magna Cum Laude in June of 2025 from Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Dr. Broder has over 5 years of experience using passive care and active care modalities as a previously licensed Chiropractic Technician (CT). Hedisplays special interests in sports injuries, athlete well-being, as well as family care. Dr. Broder will provide a well-balanced approach using the Palmer Package, Protec Spine Floating Manipulation Therapy unit, exercise intervention and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). He also has interest in dry needling and nutrition.
Outside of the office, Dr. Broder enjoys snowboarding, weightlifting, researching and spending time in nature. As a native of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Dr. Broder is very familiar with all that the area has to offer and knows the population well. He is often spending time with his friends and family, whom also call Sheboygan County home. Dr. Broder is ready and eager to help serve the community that provided him the opportunities he has to this day.
